So as you all know…our last day of opening was on Friday. The Shoppe was full to the brim with people, love, support & a bucket load of tears (mainly mine 🤣). I lost count of how many times I cried that day; through a mixture of emotions. And to see our customers & friends cry was both heartwarming & heartbreaking. Through it all…we still made the right decision. We received more support than I could possibly have imagined that day & the realisation hit that we have impacted so many lives. The Yorkshire Witch was far more than a Shoppe & Tea Room…it was a lot of things to a lot of people. Mum & I created this amazing space & it showed in all of the faces who graced us with their presence that day. We definitely left on a high.
The following days were difficult; blood sweat & tears went into undoing all of our hard work & creating a space that we no longer recognised. Not only did EVERYTHING (& I mean everything…desk, units & sink area included) have to be removed from the Shoppe but we had to apply layer upon layer (around 5 in some areas) of paint to hide the black, purple & grey that we once knew. And a blank (very bland) canvas is now left in its place. The keys were handed back to the landlord yesterday & that made it so very final.
So…what happens now for The Yorkshire Witch?! Well…today, mum & I went for a beautiful celebratory meal at the Lemon Tree where we toasted to our new chapter & briefly spoke of what’s to come. Next week we recuperate by spending some well deserved time at Lindisfarne. In the meanwhile, the raffle will continue & there will also be lots of deals to be had to make way for new stock.
Going forward…there are lots of exciting things going on behind the scenes. Our Ceremonies & events/teachings will be our main focus. Celebrating the Sabbats will continue but on a much greater level now that time & planning allows. The next one being Lammas/Lughnasadh so pop 1st of August in your diaries. We are open to requests for teachings, whether it be Witchcraft based, Spiritual or otherwise. We will do our best to accommodate. Mum will be promoting her Celebrant duties & will be available for Hand Fasting, Funerals, Blessings etc. I am doing a Sound Healing course & on completion, we will be holding Sound Baths. Our website will continue but will be more specific product based as apposed to a large range of commonly available products. Any suggestions as to what you would like to see & purchase from the website will be very welcome. After all, you guys will be the ones purchasing the stock so your input is important. There will be much more interaction & opportunities to learn through our Facebook page & Tik Tok. We have several other plans in the making but will reveal more once they come into fruition.
