Samhain (pronounced ‘Sow-in’ or ‘Sah-win’), is traditionally celebrated from sunset on October 31st to sunset on November 1st. It is an ancient Celtic festival that marked the end of the harvest season & the beginning of Winter; serving as the Celtic New Year.
The word Samhain means ‘Summer’s end’ & is one of the 8 Sabbats associated with the seasonal cycle; signifying the cycles of life, death & rebirth & preparing for the quiet, introspective period of Winter.
